Things to do in Stowe

Stowe has been one of New England’s signature ski towns since the 1930s, set beneath Mount Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak. The village’s white church steeple, inns and restaurants make it a year-round resort, with Stowe Mountain Resort in winter and hiking, biking, golf and foliage the rest of the year. The town’s economy is built on hospitality, outdoor recreation and second homes, and the Trapp Family Lodge, founded by the family who inspired The Sound of Music, still welcomes guests on the hillside above town.
