Things to do in Port Angeles

Port Angeles is the largest city on the north Olympic Peninsula, set between the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the steep wall of the Olympic Mountains. It began as a timber and fishing port, and forest products, marine trades, healthcare and tourism still shape the economy. The city is the main gateway to Olympic National Park, whose headquarters are here, and its harbor is the departure point for the passenger and car ferry across the strait to Victoria, British Columbia.

On the park’s west side, a longer drive from town leads to one of the finest temperate rain forests in the world, its trees draped in moss and ferns.
