Burlington is Vermont’s largest city, built on a hillside that slopes down to Lake Champlain, with the Adirondacks across the water and the Green Mountains to the east. The University of Vermont and the University of Vermont Medical Center are the region’s largest employers, joined by technology and manufacturing companies, healthcare, a strong food and beverage sector and a cluster of socially minded businesses.
