Things to do in Homer

Homer sits at the southern end of the Sterling Highway on the Kenai Peninsula, looking across Kachemak Bay to glaciers, fjords and the peaks of the Kenai Mountains. The town calls itself the Halibut Fishing Capital of the World, and its harbor on the Homer Spit, a narrow strip of land reaching more than four miles into the bay, is lined with charter boats, seafood shacks and shops.
