Allentown is the largest city in the Lehigh Valley, a region that grew on steel, cement and textiles and has become one of the busiest logistics and manufacturing corridors in the Northeast. Things to do in Allentown
When to go. Spring through fall is the most pleasant time to visit. Musikfest, one of the largest free music festivals in the country, fills Bethlehem with hundreds of performances in early August. The Great Allentown Fair is held in late summer, and fall brings foliage and hawk migration along the Kittatinny Ridge. Winters are cold and snowy, and Christmas in Bethlehem, the Christmas City, draws visitors through December.
