Medford is the largest city in southern Oregon and the commercial center of the Rogue Valley, a sunny basin of orchards, vineyards and ranches between the Siskiyou and Cascade mountains. When to go. The Rogue Valley is drier and sunnier than western Oregon, with hot summers and mild winters.
